So far I've skated past the food allergies and deal only in finicky shenanigans.

What I am really here to say is, YUM, that lasagna is good. And finicky eater #1 and #2 gobbled it up and asked for more. Thanks, Christi!Victoriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09849650119285773009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4931155707501663013.post-14777526062884465982011-09-14T22:04:20.549-05:002011-09-14T22:04:20.549-05:00Linda, I forgot that you don't like coffee. I'm curious, what about souring soy milk with lemon juice, like you can with regular milk when you don't have Buttermilk in your fridge? I'm not sure how that might taste, or if you've already tried it...?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4931155707501663013.post-51094315807675267732011-09-13T19:57:02.272-05:002011-09-13T19:57:02.272-05:00We also would like to forget about eggs (and nuts)...We also would like to forget about eggs (and nuts), but also have to add milk to the list.

We can work with some soy cheese and similar substitutes, and soy yogurts, too, but many times it's easier to just avoid having to find a substitute at all.

Unfortunately (?), as one of the things that has been passed down from my grandfather, to my mother and now to me are recipes for buttermilk pancakes and waffles, the quest for finding the perfect substitute to make for my now 5 year old son continues.IBDBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11051802095977599988noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4931155707501663013.post-38787799163925553512011-09-13T18:30:38.104-05:002011-09-13T18:30:38.104-05:00Food allergies do complicate cooking. I can't imagine the stress you have with your son.

I grew up in a home where meals were based around meat, and now we have vegetarians in the family, which is another complication in my cooking.

For myself, I would like to "forget" coffee in tiramisu. The taste and smell of coffee disgusts me, but I adore custard desserts.

So are the lasagna noodles the "no boil" kind or just regular noodles?Linda Cassidy Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17105748665483726537noreply@blogger.com
